Today we are opening Tramovio to our first beta users. Here is what we have built, why we built it, and what comes next.

Today, we are opening Tramovio to our first beta users.

This is an exciting moment for us, but more than that, it is the beginning of something we believe should have existed much earlier: a modern email service built around privacy, clarity, and European control from the start.

We started Tramovio with a simple frustration

Email is one of the most important tools in digital life, and yet for years the default choice has come with a trade most people never actively made. The dominant model has trained people to accept that if they want a convenient inbox, they must also accept infrastructure they do not control, business models they did not choose, and a relationship to their data that is often far less clear than it should be.

That never felt like a good foundation for something as central as email.

Your inbox is not just a stream of messages. It is where identity, work, administration, and private life all meet. It holds confirmations, contracts, invoices, legal correspondence, sensitive discussions, and the history of decisions that shape both personal and professional life.

It deserves to be treated as essential infrastructure, not just another free tool on the internet.

That is why we built Tramovio.

Why we built it

We did not want to build another niche privacy product that only appeals to highly technical users. We also did not want to build a complicated self-hosted solution that asks people to become system administrators just to regain control over their email.

What we wanted was much simpler, and much harder to get right: a clean, modern inbox that feels easy to use, is hosted in Europe, and is funded by subscriptions rather than advertising.

In other words, a service where the relationship is straightforward.

  • - You pay for the product.
  • - We provide the product.
  • - Your data is not the business model.

That principle shapes everything else. It shapes where data is hosted, how we think about privacy, the product decisions we make around retention and migration, and the kind of company we want Tramovio to be.

What Tramovio is

Tramovio is an EU-hosted email service built for people who want a better default.

From day one, beta users get a private @tramovio.eu inbox with a clean interface and a service designed around control rather than advertising. There are no ads, no data selling, and no algorithmic sorting designed to second-guess what matters most in your inbox.

We think email should feel calm, legible, and predictable. You should be able to trust that the messages you need are where you expect them to be, and that the service behind them is working in your interest.

A major part of what makes Tramovio different is the migration experience. For most people, switching email providers is not difficult in theory. It is difficult in practice. Years of message history, dozens of connected services, and the fear of missing something important make the idea of moving feel much riskier than it should.

That is why migration is not an afterthought in Tramovio. It is part of the product.

Our migration tool is designed to help users understand which services are still connected to their old inbox, build a clear step-by-step migration plan, and move at their own pace without losing continuity. The goal is not simply to offer a new email address. It is to make the transition to a better inbox feel realistic and safe.

Why now

The need for better email infrastructure has become harder and harder to ignore.

GDPR has been in force since 2018, but many services still treat privacy as something to document rather than something to design around. Hosting, jurisdiction, retention, portability, and transparency are often presented as technical footnotes or compliance language, when in reality they shape the trustworthiness of the product itself.

For us, being privacy-first is not a marketing layer added at the end. It is an infrastructure choice made at the beginning.

It means thinking carefully about where user data lives, what legal framework governs it, and how much control users have over what is stored and for how long. That is what we mean when we say Tramovio is built GDPR-first from the ground up.

What beta means today

Today's beta launch is the first step, not the finished product.

We are starting with a small group of invited users so we can learn quickly, improve carefully, and make sure the product feels solid in real-world use. Early users will help us test not just core email flows, but also the quality of the migration experience, the clarity of the interface, and the details that make an inbox feel truly dependable over time.

Beta, for us, is not a soft label for "unfinished." It is a deliberate phase of building closely with users.

That is especially important for a product like email. People rely on it every day. It needs to earn trust through consistency, not just promise.

What comes next

Over the coming months, we will continue expanding Tramovio with the same principles that shaped the beta. On the roadmap today are:

  • - Calendar integration
  • - Custom domain support
  • - Expanded storage tiers

We are not interested in building complexity for its own sake. We want each new part of the product to make the service more useful without making it feel heavier or harder to understand.

The guiding idea stays the same: your inbox is yours.

Thank you for being here early

Launching something new always begins with a small group of people willing to try it before it is fully grown.

If you are one of the users joining us in beta, thank you. Your feedback will directly shape what Tramovio becomes next.

If you are already on the waitlist, keep an eye on your inbox. Invitations are going out in waves.

If you have not joined yet, you can sign up at tramovio.com.

This is the beginning of Tramovio, and we are glad you are here at the start.
